WARREN - Diana Jean Hoover, 70, of Warren, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center emergency room.
She was born April 6, 1943 in Warren, the daughter of Arlie Burl and Loretta Mae Aikin Hall. She was raised in Newton Falls and was a lifetime Warren area resident.
Diana was a 1960 graduate of Newton Falls High School and took courses at Morehead State University in Kentucky. She worked as a nurse's aide in home health care and retired from Community Skilled Assisted Living in Warren.
She was a very active member of First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where she did hospital and senior citizen visitations, loved working with the youth in the Awana program, and worked vacation Bible school, church dinners and other church functions. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking and baking, and loved animals, especially her cats.
Diana is survived by her husband of 29 years, George Louis Hoover Jr., whom she married Feb. 11, 1985; two sons, Edward Wayne Oller and William Franklin Oller both of Warren; five grandchildren, Dominique J. and Chelsea M. Oller and Billy Jr., Christina and Nicole Oller; two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Terry Hall of Leesburg, Fla.
Two brothers, Larry Hall and a brother who died in infancy and two sisters, Connie Cottrill and Naomi Oller have all preceded her in death.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the youth programs at the church.
