WARREN - Victor V. Marchese, Sr., 89, of Warren, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center.
Victor was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Niles, the son of Peter and Angeline Marchese.
He was a graduate of Niles High School and attended Youngstown State.
Victor moved to Warren in 1951 and retired in 1986 as an independent brick layer for more than 40 years.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church), International Bricklayers and Allied Craft Makers Local Union #8, and National Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Makers.
Victor enjoyed spending time with family.
Victor served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Marchese, whom he married May 3, 1946; three children, Victor Marchese Jr. of Warren, Richard (Janice) Marchese of Butler, Tenn., and Patricia Marchese of Warren; seven grandchildren, Lori (Patrick) Bell, Melissa (Nathan) Russo, Richard Jr., Christopher and Lisa Marchese, Shanna (Michael) Benson, and Gabrielle Hawk; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jones of Niles.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Guy, Felix, Anthony and William Marchese; and three sisters, Gloria Shver, Pauline Corso and Angie DeSantis.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish with the Rev. Jeffery Stealey officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery with full military honors.
