ALL ABOARD FOR THE HOLIDAYS: The Riverside Railroad Club will hold its Christmas open house from 1 to 5p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Warren Scope Center, 220 W. Market St. There will be various indoor train layouts. There will also be a raffle. Refreshments will be served.
STUDENTS COLLECTING FOR NEEDY: The Hubbard High School National Honor Society is holding their annual food drive, open to the community. The public can drop off items from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday at the school. Canned and non-perishable items are needed.
HOLIDAY PARTY FOR KICKOFF: Method 8 Arts Academy will kick off its fundraising campaign from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday with a Christmas party premiere at the Youngstown State University Kilcawley Center Ohio Room. The event is free. There will be a 50-50 raffle.
MISSION NEEDS DONATIONS: The Warren Family Mission is in need of donated new unwrapped toys for children from infants to age 16 for the upcoming Christmas toy giveaway. There is also a need for ham, potatoes, cookies and other items for the Christmas meal to be held the week of Christmas. Items can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 361 Elm Road and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2671 Youngstown Road. To volunteer, call 330-394-5437.
NEW SERIES STARTS: The Brier Hill Cultural Center is launching its monthly Brier Hill Breakfast Series with different speakers to be held at the center, formerly St. Casimir Church, 145 Jefferson St. The event kicked off in November with a program on Youngstown's historic Idora Park.
