NILES - Mary Louise (Rossi) Rose, 90, formerly of Southwood Drive S.E. in Howland, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center.
Mary Louise was born June 13, 1923, in Warren, the daughter of Anthony G. and Lena Rossi.
Mary Louise was the co-owner of Mare-Lane Hostess Shoppe with her sister Elaine Wallace in the Elm Road Plaza, Mare's Yum Yum Drive-Inn on East Market Street, Hendri's Restaurant on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown, with her husband. She previously worked at Republic Steel Corporation in the Metallurgical Lab.
Mary Louise was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. She enjoyed baking cookies, candy making and her cottages on Lake Erie and Pymatuning Lake.
She is survived by her son John H. "Bumpy" (Patty) Vlahos of Howland, three grandchildren Lori (Michael) Sajnovsky, Tricia (John) Condoleon, and Vicki (Tim) Orwig, nine great-grandchildren, a sister Elaine Wallace of Vienna, brother attorney Anthony G. (Marilyn) Rossi of Warren and a sister-in-law Ginny Rossi of Warren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry J. Rose Jr., who passed away July 26, 2005, and one brother Eugene E. Rossi.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
