CHAMPION -- A former trustee was the top vote-getter in a three-candidate race for two seats on the Champion Township trustee board.
Keith E. Bowser, who had served as a trustee from 2002 to 2005, received 35.4 percent of the votes, according to unofficial incomplete results in Tuesday's general election.
Incumbent Jeffrey Hovanic, who is completing his fourth term and retained his seat for a new term, received 33. percent of the votes.
Incumbent Williams Templeton, who was completing his second term as a trustee, lost his attempt at re-election with 31.6 percent of the votes.
Bowser said he credits his return to the board to the support of family and friends "who believed in me."
