LORDSTOWN - As part of the recent All-Eastern Ohio Chevrolet Dealer Cruze Diesel Driveaway at General Motors Corp. in Lordstown, the complex joint leadership team presented a $5,000 GM Foundation Plant City Grant to the Warren Family Mission.
Michelle Beauchene of the Warren Family Mission said the mission feeds, clothes and shelters the local homeless, along with offering drug and alcohol rehabilitation and after-school programs free of charge. It also provides for many disabled and shut-ins with food and services.
"We thank the GM Foundation and everyone at Lordstown for all they do to help make our community better,'' Beauchene said. ''Lordstown is a pillar of our community and we are honored and grateful to receive this generous donation from the GM Foundation.''
In 2013, the GM Foundation is providing $1.6 million in funding to nearly 200 organizations in 45 manufacturing plant communities across America where GM employees live and work. That includes the Mahoning Valley, where the GM Foundation has committed $100,000 to local community service organizations like the Warren Family Mission.
