WARREN - Doris Elizabeth Haines Maas, 81, born May 25, 1932, in Warren, to Herbert F. Haines Sr. and Veronica Kochemba Haines, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family following a short battle with lung cancer.
Doris retired from Packard Electric in 1991 after 29 years of service. She was passionate about her children and grandchildren.
Her interests included sewing, crafts, card playing, reading, garage sales and helping others. She was a generous and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Doris is survived by three children, Raymond R. Maas of Warren, Richelle E. Maas (Danny) Pownell of Fowler and Rodney A. Maas of Niles; two granddaughters, Renee Pownell of Fowler and DeAnna Pownell Cedeno of Cortland; three great-grandsons, Daniel, Dustin and Colson; siblings Herbert Haines Jr. of Warren, Richard (Norma) Haines of Warren, Gloria (L. Don) Baker of Berlin Center, Martha (Norman) Stearns of Clermont, Fla., Sarah (Robert) May of Englewood, Fla., Naomi (James) Moor of West Farmington, David (Sharyn) Haines of Newbury and Alan (Renae) Haines of Alexandria, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Maas; both parents; and a brother, Donald Haines.
As per her request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside memorial will be held at a later date for family.
