The 22nd Brier Hill Italian Fest opens today on Calvin and Victoria streets in Youngstown.
Billed as the city's longest continuously running Italian fest, this year's event will feature food, games, vendors and live music over four days.
The entertainment lineup includes the Jim Frank Combo, John Gabriele and the Avanti Band today; Gabriel & Friends, the Jim Frank Combo and the Rex Taneri Band on Friday; the Paul Rossi Orchestra (with vocalist Eric McClellan), Frank Gallo Band, Jim Frank Combo and Gabriel & Friends on Saturday; and John Gabriele, Rex Taneri Band, Rocco Monaco Band, Frank Gallo Band and Dom Tocco and the Brotherhood on Sunday.
Other attractions include morra at 7:30 p.m. Friday and a hot pepper contest on Saturday.
The final day of the festival will start with the Lowellville Marching Band at 10 a.m. and a mass at St. Anthony's Church with the marching band at 10:30 a.m.
The 22nd Brier Hill Italian Fest is open from 4 p.m. to midnight today and Friday and noon to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
