Elm Road between Howland and Bazetta is seeing a lot of new business activity, with O'Reilly's Auto Parts leading the charge.
Kim Mascarella, Howland zoning director, said she is unsure of when the store will open but that they are making "grand progress."
The building has been under construction for the past few months. It sits across the road from the Echo Lanes bowling alley
Farther down the road, a Murphy's gas station - Walmart's equivalent of Giant Eagle's Get-Go - will be built near their Millennium Drive location. Mike Mills, Bazetta zoning inspector, said work will start in August as the site prepares its underground storage.
He said the gas station was planned for when Walmart moved from its location on the other side of the state Route 5 / 82 bypass.
Not far from there will be a Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant. Bazetta trus-tees have voted to forgo a hearing for a liquor license for the establishment, and Mills said the restaurant plans to open by the first of the year.
And further down the line is the proposed Menard's home improvement store that may be built at the old Walmart location off Elm Road.
