STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - An inch of rain sat on the field at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Saturday. The threat of storm and stagnant water caused a postponment for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers game with the Staten Island Yankees.
A doubleheader will be played today with the first game beginning at 2 p.m. The Scrappers' Caleb Hamrick (1-4, 5.16 ERA) will take on Staten Island's Conner Kendrick (1-1, 9.64 ERA).
Game 2 will start 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1. Mahoning Valley has a record of 10-22, while the Yankees are 15-15.
