PROGRAM ADDRESSES CANAL: "The Ohio and Erie Canal and the Making of Modern Ohio" will be the topic of a program at 2 p.m. Monday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public. Guest speaker Kevin F. Kern, an associate professor of history at the University of Akron, will discuss how the Ohio and Erie Canal fundamentally changed Ohio through its role in three interlocking revolutions - the Market Revolution, the Transportation Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution.

GARDEN WALK WELCOMES SUMMER: The Friends of the Greenhouse Consortium will celebrate the first day of summer with Paul Pfeifer and a Draime Estate Garden Walk at 10 a.m. Saturday. Reservations are required as space is limited by calling Pat at 330-372-3889.
EMPLOYEES TO MEET: The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 2122 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the 910th Airlift Wing, Youngstown Air Reserve Station, King Graves Road, Vienna. Topics to be discussed are "Do we continue on with this chapter or go defunct?"
PROGRAM TO HELP TEENS: The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership and the Office of the Mayor of Youngstown's Community Initiative to Reduce Violence have partnered with other local agencies to begin a free summer youth program for ages 15 to 19.
Sessions will be held for two hours every other Friday in June and every Friday in July and August. Some of the topics that will be discussed are responsibility, finances, accountability, parenthood, healthy lifestyles, employment, relationships and education. Individuals who complete the program will receive gift cards to various local restaurants and retail shops.

AUXILIARY OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP: The Trumbull County Firefighters Auxiliary has been awarding a nursing scholarship to people who have a need for financial assistance in continuing their nursing education.
