MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL SET: Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, will hold a Mid-Summer Knights Medieval Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Events will include battling knights, archery, hatchet and knife throwing, artisans, children's activities and vendors.
CELEBRATING FLAG DAY: Crossroads Hospice will celebrate Flag Day in Youngstown with a patriotic sing-along, traditional flag folding demonstration, and veterans pinning ceremony recognizing dozens of Youngstown veterans for their service.
An event will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. today at Omni Manor Skilled Nursing, 3245 Vestal Road, Youngstown.
KIDS CAMP WITH THE DOGS: The Learning Dog, 757 N. Main St., Hubbard, will hold a Kid's Camp five-day junior dog training course with their dogs from 8 a.m. to noon Monday to June 21. At the end of the week, participants will receive a badge certifying they are junior dog trainers. The event will include dog yoga, crafts, agility course and storytime.

SUMMER PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN: The Howland Township Summer Youth Sport and Recreation Program camps will include swimming from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m. Monday to Friday at the Warren YMCA. Also being offered from 9 a.m. to noon are Funtastic sports and games at Howland Township Park and scrapbooking at Howland Middle School.

DEADLINE FOR SPELLING BEE: The 27th annual spelling bee sponsored by Trumbull Retired Teachers will be held at 1 p.m. July 11 at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds on Everett Hull Road. Preregistration for first to eighth grades will be accepted until today. Free admission to the fair, excluding rides, will be offered to all preregistered spellers.

SLAVIC EVENT: Simply Slavic, the festival created specifically to celebrate Youngstown's Slavic community, will take place from noon to midnight on Saturday on Federal Plaza East in historic Downtown Youngstown.
