KINSMAN HOSTS SAFETY DAY: The 20th annual Safety Forces Day will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kinsman Township Park. The event will include a bike rodeo, fire department demonstration, K-9 demonstration, STATMedevac helicopter, Windsor Search and Rescue, water battle, various exhibits and displays, 50-50 and Chinese raffle. Local fire and police and Youngstown Bomb Squad will have vehicles displayed. Admission is free.
OPEN HOUSE FOR COLLEGE: The Youngstown Campus of National College, 3487 Belmont Ave., will host a community open house from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The open house will offer members of the community free campus tours, program simulations, and the opportunity to meet with admission representatives and discuss financial aid with student services representatives. Classes for the summer term will begin on July 8.
FLAG COLLECTION: Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles are holding their annual used and worn flag collection for a retirement ceremony to be held 4 p.m. Friday at Niles City Cemetery. U.S. flags that are weathered and worn can be dropped off at the funeral home at 451 Robbins Ave. A drop-off box has been placed at the back door of the funeral home.
MISSIONS CAMP FOR KIDS: The Dowtown Missions Children's Art Camp is being held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to Friday at the St. Columba Cathedral church hall. The camp is sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Office of Black and Indian Missions through a grant. Children ages 6 to 11 will participate in daily art and religious lessons and projects as well as musical activities. Wednesday is a guided tour of the Rose Garden at Mill Creek Park, Thursday a trip to Butler Institute of Art Museum and Friday an art show at Bliss Hall at Youngstown State University.
