WARREN - City police reported that a 22-year-old Palmyra Road woman needed medical attention Thursday after a man kicked in the door of one residence and, after punching her and dragging her from the home into a car, fled with her to another house.
Police have not disclosed the name of the suspect, but said the woman knows him.
When reached by a Tribune Chronicle reporter by telephone on Friday, a 28-year-old Deerfield Avenue woman listed on a Warren police report as a victim and witness said the information in the news and on the police report was not accurate. However, she would neither clarify nor confirm any of the information reported by police or provide any information.
According to police reports, two women were at the house and one of them reported a burglary and kidnapping to police. The woman told officers that about 9 p.m., a man she knows kicked in the door at a Deerfield Avenue residence, then grabbed a female friend who was hiding there and forced her outside the house and into a car. The man then drove the woman to a residence on Palmyra Road, police reports state.
Police said when they went to the Palmyra Road residence, the man had fled and the woman needed medical treatment.
The police report, which indicates the woman suffered apparent minor injury, states the woman was taken to a local hospital. An update on her condition was not available, and police did not provide any additional information about the matter.
Attempts by a Tribune Chronicle reporter to reach her by telephone for an update on her condition were not successful on Friday.
