WARREN - James Albert Pappada, 69, of Niles died at 11:55 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born April 27, 1944, in Pittsburgh, the son of Carmen and Nola Lohman Pappada.
Jim was a 1962 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, where he played on the 1961 football state championship team.
He was employed at RMI in Niles for 35 years, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, and enjoyed computers and horse racing.
He will be deeply missed by two sons, James V. Pappada of Howland and George Pappada of Niles; two stepsons, Doug Solitto of Niles and Joe Solitto of Austintown; a daughter, Amber (Brian) Thompson of East Palestine; a brother, Michael (Julie) Pappada of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Mary Ann (Ronald) Tauro of Niles; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Vince, Dominic, Logan and Brittany; and his best friends, Donald "Ducky" Collette and Char Kovach.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carmen "Dodie" Pappada.
