YOUNGSTOWN - Police were contacted by a customer early Tuesday morning about a possible break-in at a local video rental store.

The front door of the Family Video on Midlothian Boulevard had the glass broken out with a rock sitting just inside the establishment.

A customer who was returning a video about 5:30 a.m. noticed the damage to the door. According to reports, Youngstown police contacted the manager after securing the scene.

Samantha Guffy, 25, confirmed drawers were gone through in the office area. She told police the store was secured for the night about 12:30 a.m. Upon investigation, Guffy discovered money and several items missing. She claims the intruder took approximately $350 and a Kindle electronic device.

The Youngstown police crime lab took fingerprints from the scene, which they are currently processing.
