LORDSTOWN - Officials said they expect to have more information later this week about the body discovered Tuesday in a burning car in Lordstown.
The Trumbull County Coroner's Office confirmed today that an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Investigators said they are hoping the results provide them with enough pieces to put the puzzle together.
"Right now we have no idea who it is, or even what race or gender the person is," Lordstown police Chief Brent Milhoan said earlier today. "We're hoping on Friday to have some answers."
Firefighters were called to an access road near a cell tower off Industrial Trace Road about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday after someone spotted the burning vehicle. As firefighters were extinguishing the flames they realized there was a body in the car.
The vehicle was engulfed when authorities arrived.
Today Milhoan said that as far as local law enforcement knows the vehicle has not been reported stolen.
