Library hosts women’s history program

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM: Dorothy Fuldheim, the first woman newscaster in the United States, will be performed by Carol Starre-Kmiecik at 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinley Memorial Library auditorium. The program is part of Women's History Month. Fuldheim pioneered the way for women as the first woman newscaster. She worked in Cleveland most of her life as a television news commentator, interviewing several United States presidents. She died at age 96. To register call 330-652-1704, Ext. 212.

SOCIETY SETS MEETING: Brookfield Township Historical Society will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the township administration building to discuss plans for the cemetery. A cemetery book that includes burials in the oldest section of the township cemetery is for sale. Call Lois at 330-448-1124.

DRAMA CLUB PLANS SHOW: Bloomfield High School Drama Club will present Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the BHS Music Room.

EASTER BUNNY MAKES APPEARANCES: The Easter Bunny will be at the Eastwood Mall from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday through March 30. The Easter Bunny will also meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the LaBrae Complex cafeteria.

AUTISM SOCIETY HOSTS CARING BUNNY: The Autism Society of Ohio will host the Caring Bunny to Mahoning Valley children with special needs. Dedicated to families that have children with special needs, the Caring Bunny provides a subdued environment, allowing more children to enjoy a visit with the bunny. The event will be held at 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Southern Park Mall. Many steps are taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for the children's visit with the bunny. For additional information visit www.autismohio.org.

ENDOWMENT HELPS AGENCY: The Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation has provided Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. with $7,500. Help Hotline helps provide information and referral for seniors in Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties.
