DEAR EDITOR:
Thank you for publishing the information about the need to spay and neuter pets. It is a necessary action if we are to reduce the number of animals in shelters - or, simply dropped in a field.
As much as I love my cat, Spunky, I cannot believe that dumping a litter of kittens in a field is a preferable solution to the problem of unwanted animals than to have spayed and neutered the parents before conception could occur.
