Canfield dominates Holy Name to reach regional final

GIRLS BASKETBALL

CANFIELD 52, HOLY NAME 30: BARBERTON - Canfield moves on to the Division II regional final with the win over Holy Name.

Sabrina Mangapora scored 13 for Canfield and Kayla Barko chipped in with 12. Kim Cook led Holy Name (16-10) with 13 points.

Canfield (26-1) will play Hathaway Brown in the Division II regional final. The game is on Friday, March 8 at Barberton High School. Tipoff starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Tickets will be sold through Thursday until 2:45pm.

BOYS BASKETBALL

YOUNGSTOWN CHRISTIAN 52, MOGADORE 51: STRUTHERS - Youngstown Christian's Dylan Williams hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send Eagles to the Division IV district final.

Williams scored a total of 23 points on the night. Mogadore's Austin Mahoney led the team with 16.

Youngstown Christian will face Wellsville on Friday, March 8. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Struthers High School.

WELLSVILLE 71, LOWELLVILLE 58: STRUTHERS - Lowellville's season comes to an end after the loss to Wellsville in the Division IV district semifinal.

Wellsville's Nate Scott was too much for Lowellville, scoring 23 on the night. Dave Wilaj netted 14 points for Lowellville.

Wellsville will face Youngstown Christian on Friday, March 8. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Struthers High School.
