WEST FARMINGTON - Dorothy Sloan Anthony, 96, of 143 W. Main St., died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Diane Anthony (Barry) Spiller, in Citrus Heights, Calif., following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Indiana, Pa., the daughter of James Z. Sloan and Sara Monks Sloan.
Dorothy retired from the Warren Tribune Chronicle in 1982, after working in the editorial department for 30 years. She was a member of West Farmington United Methodist Church.

In 1934, she married John W. Anthony, who died in 1993.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by her sons, John Dennis (Joan) Anthony of Phoenix, Ariz., and David F. (Virginia) Anthony of Bristolville; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
By her prior arrangements, her body has been donated to the UC Davis School of Medicine.
No service is scheduled at this time.
