WARREN - ValleyCare Health System of Ohio recently presented a $37,500 check to the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley and Trumbull County representing their employee contributions to the 2012 campaign.
"ValleyCare and its employees have been strong supporters of the United Way for more than 25 years. Our employees continue to show their compassion for the community beyond the patient bedside," said Kirk Ray, CEO of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio.
He said ValleyCare and the United Way selected to present the check at the American Red Cross in Warren because it's local organizations like the Red Cross benefit from the funds collected by the United Way. In turn the American Red Cross helps local hospitals in the Mahoning Valley like ValleyCare.
"We are very appreciative of the continued support from ValleyCare and its employees. Thanks to their commitment to this Valley, this gift will make a huge impact in making a difference in many lives," said Bob Hannon, president of the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley.
Thomas J. Krysiek, president of the United Way of Trumbull County, said the United Way is grateful for the contributions of employees from Northside Medical Center, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital that reflect the strong caring and sharing nature of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio to the Trumbull and Mahoning County communities.
