DEAR EDITOR:
I am writing this letter to get a reply from the Warren City officials if Old Avalon Golf Course will be open for the 2013 season.
I have worked there part-time for eight years and I know how the course operates. We have about 14 golf leagues that are waiting for an answer. I have called Mayor Franklin and Safety Director Mr. Cantalamessa, but no response from either of them. Some of the golf leagues have written letters to find out what decision has been made, but no response.
The golf leagues I have talked to like playing at Old Avalon and don't want to move to another course. But the leagues can't wait until early spring to have a decision made. By then they will have had to make other arrangements to golf at other courses. I hope this letter will encourage the officials to make their decision soon.
