DIVISION I: AUSTINTOWN - Boardman is in fourth place at the Division I sectional wrestling tournament after day one.
The Spartans accumulated 66 points. Hudson leads the tournament with 93.5. Austintown is in eighth with 43.
Boardman advanced seven wrestlers to the semifinal round (Nick Mancini, Peter Ryan, Mario Graziani, Matt Inghram, Kyle Kondas, Joe Cordova and Justin Humphreys). For Fitch, Zach Mackall, Camran Rezapourian and Tyler Bell moved on to the semis.
DIVISION II:?WEST BRANCH - Canfield is in first place at the Division II West Branch sectional wrestling tournament after the first day of competition.
The Cardinals' 82 team points is just ahead of West Branch's 80. Howland is third with 76 points. Poland earned 40 points and is in sixth place. Southeast is seventh at 39.5, and Hubbard is 12th at nine.
Canfield has nine wrestlers in the semifinals (Korey Frost, C.J. Frost, Shawn Williams, Bryan Batton, John Poullas, Stan Socha, Hayden Smith, Jacob Esarco and Curtis Burns). Howland also earned nine spots (Nico Lucarelli, Jimmy Lerakis, Alex Cornicelli, Gabe Stark, David Brian Whisler, Jordan Radich, Josh Grodesky, Andrwe Rolfe and Mike Bell). Poland's Dante Ginnetti, Anthony Mancini, Mike Audi and Abe Kassem moved on for the Bulldogs. Tyler Whitacre advanced for Hubbard.
