CIVIL WAR PROGRAM PLANNED: Trumbull County and Ohio in the Civil War is the topic of a program at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Howland Library Branch, 9095 E. Market St. Harry Schoger, a member of the Trumbull County CW150 Committee, will discuss some of the region's significant individuals and events during the Civil War. The event is free to the public.
COMPETITION SET: Mathcounts, a national math enrichment competition program for children in grades seven and eight, will take place today at Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University. Middle school students from throughout the area will take part.
PROGRAMS CANCELED FOR BANQUET: Due to the annual McKinley Banquet being held Monday at the McKinley Memorial Library, Niles, the following regularly scheduled children's programs are canceled for next week: Mother Goose on the Loose Baby Storytime on Monday; Reader-Totters Storytime on Monday; Pozy's Pals Preschool Storytime on Tuesday; and Build-It / Bead-It Club on Saturday.
HUBBARD HOSTS OPEN HOUSE: The Hubbard Historical Society is hosting an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 27 Hager St., Hubbard. For any other tours of the house call Bob Gibson at 330-534-4485. The next Hubbard Historical Society meeting is 7 p.m. today.
READING AND ART COMBINED: Reading and Other Forms of Art will be held for kids 10 and younger at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Institute of American Art-Trumbull Branch, 9350 E. Market St., Howland. The interactive family program blends art and books. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
