Free health fair in Girard

COMMITTEE HOSTS FAIR: The Girard City Schools' Wellness Committee will hold its first free Family Health and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the high school cafetorium, 1244 Shannon Road. More than 30 vendors from business and health-related organizations in the area will participate in multiple forms of healthcare screening and informational booths.

RESIDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET: The Resident Advisory Committee of the Strategic Planning Committee will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Red Cross headquarters on Mahoning Avenue in Warren.

ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN: The Oh Wow! Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., Youngs-town, will hold a "Make a Model of a Lung" from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today and Thursday for grades fifth to eighth. For information, call 330-744-5914.

PANTRY TO OPEN: Project Be Somebody will host the grand opening of its food pantry from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 4814 W. Market St., Leavittsburg.

CONCERT SET: Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave., will host the Lesser Ones from Canton in concert at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is free, but canned goods will be accepted and donated to the local rescue mission.

CELEBRATING PANCAKE DAY: In celebration of National Pancake Day, IHOP Restaurants will offer each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. today to raise awareness and money for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Locally, celebrations will take place at restaurants at 833 Boardman Poland Road, Boardman, and 1980 Niles Cortland Road, Howland, with all proceeds from the local events benefiting Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley.
