Bishop to be keynote speaker

DIVERSITY EVENT PLANNED: Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, the 117th elected and consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, will be the keynote speaker at Youngstown State University's Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity breakfast event from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. The event includes the presentation of the annual Rev. McKenzie's historic election in 2000 represents the first time in the more than 200-year history of the AME Church that a woman had obtained the level of Episcopal office.
