WARREN - Virginia Rickard, 89, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Gillette Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Roy and Ethel Pugh Holcome.
She was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
She retired from Lawson's Dairy Store and was of Protestant faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia R. Merchant of Arizona, and a sister, Dorothy Francis of Chillicothe.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John William Rickard; a son, John Rickard Jr.; and two sisters.
Private memorial services will be held in Chillicothe. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation.
Arrangements were handled by Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
