DEAR EDITOR:
It seems like every day now I read the paper and some crazed adult or adults are harming children and/or murdering them. The big question on my mind, as well as good citizens across the nation are asking themselves, "Why the children?"
Children are the most innocent human beings on the planet. So why harm the children? I believe in my own heart that these adults are pure evil. They can't pick on someone their own size so they take it out on the children because they know the children can't fight back and that these evil adults know they have power over life and death of the little children.
I have two grown children - a son and a daughter - whom my wife and I have raised, loved and adored. They now both have a child each - both sons who are 5 and 6. The Bible says, "Children's children are the crown of old men." As my children were precious to my wife and I, so are our two little grandsons.
After we heard the news of the 20 little children being gunned down in Newtown, Conn., the first thing we thought of was how terrible this act of violence was put upon these little children, and then we started thinking about our two little grandsons and how much we love and cherish them. Our hearts go out to all the families of the little children and to the adults of the families who were also killed at this elementary school in Connecticut. Children are God's gift to us as parents and grandparents all over the world.
I've written several articles alone, just in our community, about these evil people hurting and harming, and yes, murdering little children. The rage, the pure evilness of these adults committing such acts of violence to these little children is outrageous. I just ask, "God, please help protect these innocent little children in our community across this nation. Give them the chance to grow, to live and to not have to worry about anything. For their little lives are worth much more than anything in the world."
God bless the little children everywhere.
