Park nice touch for neighborhood

DEAR EDITOR:

I have to commend the city of Warren for the outstanding job they've done in making the Northend Park a beautiful place to see and visit.

The variety of trees planted and the well-maintained grass - which at one point was growing a little wild - but now the whole park is a place of art. And the new sign, to me, is more like a monument of the past and now present and future of this wonderful place to have fun and enjoy the beauty of it.

You have the bike trail that runs through it, the pavilion, the picnic tables, the restrooms and even drinking fountains. It's really a treasure to behold. My wife and I have been living only one street over from the park; we can see if from our backyard. For 27 years we've lived in the same area where our children grew up. Our kids played at the old Northend Park, and now our grandsons can enjoy the new Northend Park. It is truly amazing.

Thanks to the city of Warren for giving us and our neighbors a little piece of Heaven on Earth. I can't wait to see it a few years down the road when the trees start growing and sprouting their leaves. I just hope and pray that this absolutely beautiful park doesn't fall victim to hooligans messing up the place.

Warren is really starting to shape up and look like the beautiful city it was meant to be. I just can't say enough about this outstanding park. It's an eye-catcher, for sure. And that's what we need is more places like this for the city. Like the amphitheater - another piece of art - it's absolutely beautiful. It is job well done and gives our neighborhood a transformation to be cherished for generations to come.
