New GetGo to open Thursday on Elm Road
WARREN - Giant Eagle on Elm Road N.E. in Warren will open a new GetGo convenience store and fueling station Thursday, the company announced.
The new 200-square-foot GetGo has been under construction since October. According to the city's building department permit, issued Oct. 15, the project was valued at $558,711.
The new GetGo has eight fueling pumps and some convenience store offerings. It will operate adjacent to the Giant Eagle supermarket at 2109 Elm Road N.E. seven days a week, but will be closed overnight.
West Side firm acquires Solar Tracker assets
YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown aluminum extrusion business has completed the acquisition of assets related to the solar panel industry previously owned by OPEL Technologies, the company announced Tuesday.
Northern States Metals, which has manufacturing locations on Youngstown's West Side and in Ontario, Canada, acquired certain assets related to the Solar Tracker. NSM is the developer and manufacturer of the Solar FlexRack, a patented, pre-assembled solar panel mounting rack with widespread use.
NSM President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Meola said, "The Solar Tracker broadens our Solar FlexRack product line, and OPEL's Solar Tracker is perfect for the kind of utility scale projects that we're now targeting."
Northern States Metals is headquartered in West Hartford, Conn. It was named to Inc. Magazine's 2012 List of America's Fastest Growing Companies.
Area financials stocks show mixed results
First Place Financial Corp. stock remained at 1 cent per share in trading Tuesday. First Niles Financial rose 5 cents to end at $6.50 a share, and Cortland Bancorp. rose 3 cents to close at $9.80 a share.
