Lauren Alfreno and David Karl Jr. were united in marriage during a wedding ceremony held Sept. 29, 2012, at St. Ignatius of Antioch, Cleveland.
A reception was held following the ceremony at Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Theresa Furrie of Howland and Dave and Wendy Alfreno of Greenville, Pa. Parents of the groom are David and Dianne Karl Sr. of Howland.

Nicole Pike attended her sister as matron of honor, while Carla Simeone served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Joy Cowen, Justine Karl, sister-in-law of the groom, Jacci Lawrence, Amanda Machuzak, Melissa Sarisky, Lori Wilster and Marisa Wrobleski. Brynn Pike and Kyle Pike, nieces of the bride, shared the duties of flower girl.
Sharing the duties of best man for their brother were Dr. Michael Karl and Matthew Karl. Groomsmen were Mike Ahlers, Sean Cornelius, Christopher DeCola, Mike Green, Chris Lee, Jeff Morley and Jon Ralph. Gage Tricker and Cole Tricker, cousins of the groom, shared the duties of ring bearer.
The new Mrs. Karl graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 2002 and received a master's degree in health and human services from Youngstown State University. She is employed as a field sales consultant for Henry Shein Dental in Chicago.
Mr. Karl also graduated from JFK High School, in 1995, and received a bachelor of business administration from YSU. He is employed by Atrium Medical as a territory manager in Chicago.
Following a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Chicago.
