GIRARD OFFERS FLU SHOTS: The Girard City Health Department will offer flu vaccines between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the health department at 330-545-6048.

ALZHEIMER'S GROUP TO MEET: The Alzheimer's Association will be holding its monthly Caregiver Support Groups on the following dates:

LAWYER TO SPEAK TO SUPPORT GROUP: Jack N. Alpern, a Warren-based attorney and co-author of "Total Wealth Management: The Definitive Guide to Estate and Financial Planning and Actions and Proceedings Relating to Wills," will be the featured speaker during the December meeting of the Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, in the Cedar Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Alpern is an estate planning expert who has presented more than 200 seminars on the subject. He has also lectured on planning for retirement and protecting heirs from estate taxes.

Meetings of the Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group take place the second Tuesday of each month with meeting places alternating between Humility of Mary Health Partners' HM Home Care office in Girard and St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Meetings are open to the public, refreshments are provided and parking is free.

SAFETY COUNCIL OFFERS COURSE: The National Safety Council, Northern Ohio Chapter (Ohio One Building - downtown Youngstown), 21 E. Boardman St. Suite 343, Youngstown, is offering a CPR/AED cardio pulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator course - adult / child / infant (two-year certificate), at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 19.

Also being offered is a first aid (three-year certificate) course at 1 p.m. Dec. 19.

FLU CLINIC TO BE HELD: A flu clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. daily at Warren West Community Health Center, 716 Tod Ave., Warren. Walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call 330-373-0222.

IMMUNIZATION CLINIC OFFERED: The Niles City Health Department will hold an immunization clinic from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Dec. 19. No appointment necessary. Child immunization records are required and Medicaid cards are accepted. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PROGRAM OFFERED FOR DEALING WITH ISSUES: An eight-step Christian program based on the Beatitudes is open to anyone dealing with a life-controlling habit or issue. It meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays at the Bloomfield Recovery Center, 10113 Creaser Ashtabula Road, Bloomfield.

CHRONIC FATIGUE GROUP TO MEET: Chronic Fatigue and/or Fibromyalgia Support Group will meet 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 17 at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave., Warren.
