BOYS

SEBRING 58, LORDSTOWN 53: SEBRING - Lordstown had the lead at halftime, but a strong second half by Sebring was the difference in this non-conference game.

The Red Devils had the 32-26 advantage after the second quarter, but the Trojans outscored them 32-21 in the second half.

Sebring (1-1) was paced by Dillon Mick with 20 points and Josh Hurford with 15.

Lordstown, which falls to 0-3, was led by Jake Jones' 21 points. Preston Sutton had 14 and Nick Johnson added 13.

WINDHAM 52, NEWTON FALLS 49: NEWTON FALLS - Newton Falls had the edge at halftime, but Windham, and more specifically Matt Knight, turned it up in the second half to rally and defeat the Tigers.

Newton Falls was up 26-23 going into the half. But after halftime, Knight came alive scoring all 13 of his points in the second half - 10 of his 13 in the fourth quarter. Knight led the Bombers, and was followed by Jared Taylor's 11 points. Windham improves to 2-0.

Newton Falls was led by Ozzie Hawkins with 21 points. Dale Kernen added 17. The Tigers fall to 0-2 on the year.

CHAMPION 63, NILES 59: CHAMPION - Tylor Bishop put up 29 points for the Golden Flashes, including five 3-pointers, giving the Golden Flashes their first victory of the season.

Niles had the two-point edge after the first quarter, but Champion went on a 22-10 run in the second quarter. The Red Dragons battled back in the third and took the lead, 46-40, before Champion ended the game with a 23-13 fourth quarter.

Along with Bishop, Clay Hall added 15 points for Champion, which is now 1-1 on the season.

Niles, which falls to 1-1, was led by Ray Russ' 17 points. Chris Parry scored 13.

MASSILLON PERRY 68, URSULINE 44: YOUNGSTOWN - Perry dominated the first half of a non-conference battle with Ursuline and kept the Fighting Irish winless with a strong defensive effort.

The Panthers' Jeremiah Jackson scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as Perry took a 40-24 lead at the break. Cole Piatko contributed 16 for the Panthers (2-0), who outscored the Fighting Irish, 22-14, in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Ryan Strollo paced Ursuline (0-2) with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Desmond McElroy provided 13 for the Fighting Irish, who play LaBrae on Saturday.

JACKSON-MILTON 69, SOUTHINGTON 62: NORTH JACKSON - Jackson-Milton trailed by six with 3:42 to play, but the Blue Jays rallied for the win.

Brandon Mitchell led the comeback, scoring nine of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter. Jeremy Fitzpatrick put in 17 points and Chuck Anderson added nine for Jackson-Milton (1-1).

Jacob Zolna paced Southington (0-2) with 20 points and Justin Lenn had 12.

POLAND 51, LIBERTY 41: POLAND - Jacob Wolfe led all players with 31 points to lead Poland past Liberty.

The Bulldogs led 21-18 at halftime, then pulled away in the final two quarters.

Cameron Clark led Liberty with 11 points.

GIRLS

LORDSTOWN 53, LEDGEMONT 37: LEDGEMONT - Sarah Cash had another stellar outing, leading the Red Devils to their third win of the season.

Lordstown jumped to a 27-20 lead at half and never trailed.

Cash recorded 30 points as she is on track to score her 1,000th point this season. The Red Devils are now 3-0.

Ledgemont was led by Megan Ritz with 13 points.
