WARREN - Marvin "Pepa" Anthony Sr., 74, 250 Austin Ave. N.W., departed this life at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his daughter's residence following an extended illness.
He was born July 4, 1938, in Bunkie, La., the son of Wilbert and Wilma Wright Anthony, residing in the area since 1971, coming from Compton, Calif.
Mr. Anthony was employed with Harbinson Walker for 20 years as a bricklayer before retiring in 1990. He worked at Kleen King Laundry as an attendant and was a foster parent for many years.

He was a member of Alpha and Omega Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was first elder and youth pastor. He participated in numerous church activities and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
Mr. Anthony retired in 1990 as a sergeant first class after 28 years of service with the U.S. Army, Navy and National Guard. He received the National Defense ribbon, Good Conduct medal and several honors.
He married Alberta "Mema" Daniels Anthony on June 4, 1955, and she died Feb. 5, 2012.
He leaves to mourn one son, Marvin R. Anthony Jr. of Brent, Ala.; six daughters, Evelyn Graham (Jeffery Ingram), Michelle (K.C.) Jordan, Gwendolyn Haynes and Sedell Bundy, all of Warren, Rosetta Wright of Columbus and Valerie Haynes of Indianapolis; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; Roshell Daniels of Warren, whom he raised; and a host of relatives and friends.
His parents; his wife; one son, Gregory Anthony; two granddaughters; two brothers, Richard and J.W. Anthony; and one sister, Audrey Anthony, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at Alpha and Omega Seventh-day Adventist Church. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
