Timothy R. Leiby, 1952-2012

JOHNSTON - Timothy R. "Tim" Leiby, 60, passed away at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at his home following complications from congestive heart failure.

Tim was born June 28, 1952, in Youngstown, the only son of the late Russell A. and Virginia Marie Johnston Leiby and was a 1972 graduate of Maplewood High School.

Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served his country as a jet mechanic during peacetime following the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the Air Force, Tim went on to work for 10 years at Brady Chemicals as a general foreman in Milwaukee, Wis.

Tim is survived by a daughter, Jayme (John) Baird of Oconomowoc, Wis., and two grandchildren, Jack and Justin Baird. Tim is also survived by two sisters, Cindy (Tom) Barzak of Johnston and Eileen (Pedro) Poblete of Santiago, Chile; three nephews, Dr. Scott (Sherry) Barzak of Meadville, Pa., Jason (Kendra) Barzak of New Albany and Jorge Poblete of Santiago, Chile; and a niece, Fernanda Poblete of Santiago, Chile.

Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home in Hartford. A funeral service with the Rev. Michael Hayes will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Johnston Township Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Tim's name to the Maplewood Athletic Department, 2414 Greenville Road, Cortland, OH 44410.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford, OH 44424.
