YOUNGSTOWN - Stanley "Toby" Kosinski Sr., 85, of the city's North Side, passed away late Monday morning, Nov. 19, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Stanley, who was known to all as "Toby," was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Stella Stefanko Kosinski, and was a lifelong area resident.
He attended The Rayen School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea after World War II. Mr. Kosinski was a driver/salesman for 50 years, beginning at the Star Bottling Co. He subsequently worked for Tri-County Distributing and retired in 1989 from the R.L. Lipton Co.

Toby was a member of St. Columba Cathedral and a former active member of St. Casimir Church. He was a longtime member of PLAV Post No. 87, where he had served as post commander and treasurer, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus All Saints Council.
Mr. Kosinski leaves his wife, Marion McNicholas Kosinski, whom he married May 30, 1968; his son, Stanley Jr. (Theresa) Kosinski of Youngstown; his daughter, Marly Kosinski at home; five grandchildren, Kayla (fiance Ryan Weston), Jena, Madison, Jordan and Erin Kosinski; a sister, Dorothy (Al) Protopapa of Youngstown; a brother, Robert (Mary Lou) Kosinski of Niles; and many nieces and nephews.
Toby will be truly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ed Kosinski; and by two sisters, Alice Chizmar and Jane Rudy.
Family and friends may call from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Columba Cathedral on West Wood Street near downtown Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Interment with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
