Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Emmerth recently celebrated their 50th anniversary at a Sunday Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland, celebrated by the Rev. Carl Kish, followed by a luncheon celebration at the Magnuson Grand Hotel.
Andy and the former Diane Nye of Braceville were married Sept. 29, 1962, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren.
Diane was a educator in the public and parochial elementary school system in Windham and Warren, and in Rome, N.Y. She is a member of Ohio Theta Masters, card clubs and Warren Civic Music.

Andy retired from a management position at Rome Strip Steel in Rome, N.Y., in 1998, and the couple then returned to Cortland. He is a member of the Republic Supervisor Club, card clubs and is a charter member of the Warren Ski Club.
The couple have four children, Andrea (David) Loyd of Hershey, Pa., Alicia Stanislaw of Lenior, N.C., Antia Joe (Steven) Strachota of London, England, and Bruce (Dawn) of Bainbridge. They also have nine grandchildren.
The Emmerths keep active attending family and sorority outings, traveling, socializing with friends and neighbors, visiting their children and attending the grandchildren's sporting and school activities. They are members of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland, where Andy is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
