Wghteacher that happened my 10th grade year there were constantly fights that is why they took away lunches. You act like fighting is new in Harding I seen a girl get her weave ripped out of her hair. I agree it starts at home. Mr fowler could not keep up with the fighting. I remember teachers stepping in to break up the large fights.

But when I saw a couple weeks ago a 4 fight riot in the cafetorium and the teachers and students locked in there, no principals, students jumping on tables whooting and hollering. To me, that's not acceptable behavior and risking my life or injury to breaking it up so ur children don't get hurt, makes me a phony teacher then all I can say is wow, you're welcome

Wow all I was meaning is we need to be more constructive. Our kids are not dumb. They know what they can and can't get away with. Listening to some of these comments makes me more and more scared of what is happening. But if u guys think what going on is good then ill just silence myself.

@Wghteacher: I hope you never teach a child of mine, or any sane person's child. at anytime or anywhere with an attitude like you have. OK lets give a big hand to the phoney teacher.

First step would be to make a concious effort to promote conservative, family oriented values:

* reduce welfare and implement programs that are designed to help the truly less fortunate only (I.e. temporary help with programs to train and educate people to care for themselves). No more life long handouts and generational welfare. * stop catering to thug like images (pants down, tatoos, metal nose rings, etc.) and kissing thug but. * stop promoting game and tv violence in a way that not only makes it look cool, but teaches how to at the same time. * bring back Prayer in our schools (at least to minimal levels...like we use to have). * beef up our Police force in a big, big way and implement strict laws and no-bull, no, non-sense approaches. Zero tolerance for violent behavior.

I'm not saying be a prude, but if things continue like they are, everything for everyone will be worse off, in a lot of ways.

Yes, I agree it's starts at home, but it's not for some reason. Now my question for you as the Warren Community is what can we do to make this situation better and make Warren City future better because this hands off method is not working

Do not let the ghetto get the best of you, and if you do they win. It is a repeat of the riot's of the late 1960's. Bang Bang he shot me down...

I don't understand giving the teacher such a hard time for expressing sincere concern. The trolls on this message board interfere with teachable moments that allow citizens to hear & learn from each other.

I would like to have explored this teachers experience being on the front line. It could have turned into meaningful dialog. I'm against this internet anonymity that allows idiots room to run their mouths unchecked.

Wghteacher, I'm sure you're familiar with the dumb kids in class always running interference when the smart kids want to dive into their subject and advance their intellect.

Well you'll find the dumb kids of yester year have found a new calling, trolling this message board!

Another thought. If 99% of these Warren City thugs were in a hole in Afghanistan they would be wetting themselves and crying like babies. Pure punks; nothing more.

I think you must have a high school education or a GED to get into the military at this time.

That leaves out about 99% of the trash causing unrest in Warren City.

This situation is turning into a shoot first and figure it out after the problems are sorted out.

Too many young men and women on welfare acting as thugs

@WGHTEACHER...As a teacher I would think you would be more professional to NOT comment, than to bash your school and principal, great school pride you have there! You should have left with Zitnik!!! It all starts at home. This was probably a prank and a set-up for the kids NOT to go to school. It amazes me at how people talk about Howland & Niles being the NICE SCHOOL DISTRICTS. Do you read the newspapers around the world? It's not just WARREN, it can happen anywhere!!! It's not just the thugs, nor the principal's fault he's at a meeting in Columbus!!! DUH!!! Are you really a teacher? If so, I've lost respect for you!

I'm a teacher at WGH high school, and there are a few things I would like to say. First of all, notar said that all teachers were in attendance today. We never got the phone call like all the parents did. They sent an email out about 11pm and most teachers don't look at their emails until they are at work the next day. Also, our principal wasn't even in school today. He was at a conference. Hate to say this but IMHO no conference in Columbus is more important than the safety of our students. He lost some respect from his staff today by the actions he did or didn't do. I'm sorry to say this but speaking as a teacher, I don't feel safe working there since Zitnik left. Too many fights and gang related incidents happening and these kids are only getting a slap on the wrist. It's not right.

Warren's worst week is an everyday occurrence in Cleveland, you folks are much too afraid and easily intimidated.

Men should be able to look you in the eye unflinching and speak with the same firm voice whether to a Mayor, Judge or dope addict!

None of the students who were absent today because of this threat should be punished by the schools. This was a threat to our teachers and students.
