Marvel, you make a great point about health care spending, but you underestimate the percentage. Per capita, health care spending in the us is 45%

Wrong Ramikson. For one you can't lump in 3rd would countries who's individuals and governments pay almost nothing because there is almost no healthcare at all.

When you look at developed countries we average 10-15% higher. But we also, rank #1 in healthcare outcomes, best doctors, best hospitals, best technology.

You think you can just plug and play. You see 45% more and automatically assume every country has the same quality of care, same access to care as the US, all we have to do is follow their model. Which completely illustrates your lack of insight, understanding, and ability to think for yourself.

Marvel, you make a great point about health care spending, but you underestimate the percentage. Per capita, health care spending in the us is 45% higher than the next closest country. Despite that, we are ranked 38th in quality of care.

Obama could have redistributed that 300 million, 1 million, give or take for each man or woman, then we could have stimulated the economy, paid off debt to bankers and the social parasites could have bought healthcare. that wouldnt give them control, so it was out of the question.

A Reuters review of government documents shows that the contract to build the federal Healthcare.gov online insurance website - key to President Barack Obama's signature healthcare reform - tripled in potential total value to nearly $292 million as new money was assigned to the work beginning in April this year.

Im shocked, shocked I tell you! but this wont add a dime to the deficit bwaha, bwahahahahahahah!

You libbies can spin all you want but the facts are being reported by everyone.

CBO says Obamacare takes 720 billion from medicare

Unions want out

Government employees want out

Exchange is a disaster, premiums and deductibles have skyrocketed

Parts of the bill weren't even implemented to save face before midterm elections.

No one is signing up because of the sticker shock.

Hospitals are starting to demand up front deductibles or you wont get treated.

Medicaid expansion was ruled unconstitutional

Trust me if this was a train you would all be jumping off!

“The elephant in the room that nobody, not even the "fearless" Tea Party is talking about is the overpriced medical procedures in the USA.”

It is amazing someone would ask this question with absolutely no understanding or curiosity as to why. And that Obamacare didn’t address any of this.

For one to compare our “costs” with other countries costs by just stating out of pocket expenses for other countries illustrates this persons extremely shallow and simple thinking process. Maybe you should also take a look at quality, tax rates, population, regulations, standards, chances of actually getting a procedure. There are so many variables that you are not taking into account.

For one, our total healthcare costs average 10-15% higher than the rest of the world. That includes what you pay and what the government pays with your taxes. That is total, everything.

"A hip replacement is $10,000-14,000 in Japan, Germany, UK, and France but costs $40,000 in the USA. Why? It's only $4,000 in India. "

That's not the cost moron that's what the hospital charges the patient, doesn't include what the government takes from the patient. I don't know how to respond to someone that posts that.. They are so far from understanding anything, as evident by that post, that nothing you say will penetrate.

That's right just spew stupid talking points. Tell you what take away free markets an America never exists. The opportunity never exists. You rail against and want to get rid of all the things that made us great. Unbelievable stupidity and complete lack of understanding.

Hey Doc. If as you state health care is between the doctor and the patient, what happens when the patient can't afford the treatment? Do we let them die or does the doctor eat the cost ?

NotPC4sure. Included in the Presidential and Vice Presidential compensation packages is use of the use of The White House Medical Unit for Potus, VPOTUS, and their families. It's been that way since 1945.

As far as after they leave office, The President, if he is a one termer has the option to pay for treatment at a military medical facility, or seek private insurance. If they are a two termer, they are given to option to purchase insurance through the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program, or seek private insurance.

Ramkisoon== seems to me if Obamacare is a good deal then why isn't Obama signing his family up---I understand, he is a narcissitic meglomanic--he is now a lifelong elitist. He and the democrats are above the law--Obamacare doesn't apply to them--they pay nothing extra and keep their plush plans

Since there are no middle class watchdogs on the left or the right...and since

Liberals tax too much and conservatives spend too much; we should all vote libertarian or independent.

If liberal spending is the root cause of our current mess, compare Obama's spending to GDP ratio to Reagan's 8-year average? Obama is spending less than Reagan so far...explain the Tea Party rationale for shutting down the government and blaming liberals that don't exist for causes they invented.

Total healthcare spending in the U.S. is around $2.6T. Spending via emergency medicaid(the only type of care they are eligible for) on illegal immigrants accounts for 0.03% of that total, while senior spending accounts for 30% of that total,so it's not illegals making it expensive for everybody else.

It should also be noted that illegal immigrants contribute $11B to state tax coffers annually, and more than $5B to OASDI/Medicare, and Federal Income tax annually.

Really now? SO if liberals are the cause of the high medical costs in the USA, then who is responsible in the even more liberal systems in France, Germany, Japan, and UK for keeping the prices there much much lower on behalf of the people?

It seems to me in America we have no true liberals fighting for us anymore. The conservatives and the liberals in America are making their cut and laughing at all of us partisans fighting over our half Muslim half White and half witted half free market president.
