nortman, I understand you have every right to ride on the roads. myself I would not trust the auto drivers even with a bike lane, there is only a stripe of paint between you and the auto.

@indycolt, cyclists have the same right to the road as motorists. I live 5 miles from where I work and it would be an ideal ride for me to go to and from work in nice weather. I can't do that because of that one section of road from between the Howland DQ and around North Mar church. This is an issue of political hypocrisy. Democrats lecture us about how bad cars are for the environment, yet in this case they aren't willing to do anything for safety. This, people are discouraged from riding.

nortman, didn't they just build a bike trail ? that is where bikers should ride, the open road is no place to ride unless you have a death wish. drivers are in too big of a hurry and distracted to be on the look out for bicycles.

Still think we don't need bike lanes?

Like I have said before, that area is a "no man's land" for anyone on a bicycle. It is not safe to ride a bike between Warren and Howland because of that area. It would be nice of the governments of the 2 area would plot out bike lanes there for the cyclists' safety. But, it is easier for the politicians to chastise people for not being healthier than it is to actually do something to help the people to be healthier.
