A wake-up call for parents

March 26, 2013

‘‘This is another wake-up call. If you don’t wake up now, it’s going to get worse and worse. We are in trouble; we are in trouble. God is trying to get us to understand that we’re in trouble....

Good parenting, teaching good values and helping one's children through their young lives might be tough at times . . .

But NOT teaching good values and helping one's children through their young lives . . . Is more constantly tougher on parents, more constantly tougher on the children and after all is said and more constantly tougher on society.

If only parents could realize how much better they make life for everyone, including themselves, when they learn the tools and take the time to raise their children the best they can.

This is so true! I could not agree more! And having lived long enough to see the end result of many types of parenting, I can testify that this author is absolutely, emphatically right. Discipline is not pleasant, but the end result is truly a gift. A gift to the child -- for sure -- and a gift to all those who will be affected by him/her throughout his/her life!

Good article, Martha. Too many of us talk Christianity on Sundays, but we don't LIVE the values we profess to believe in during the rest of the week. And,therefore, we don't set a proper example for young people to emulate. And just what happened to those old-fashioned values that we used to believe in and practice, anyway? Maybe we should become less "progressive" and bring back some of those "old-fashioned" values.

Another great article from you, Marhta. For Parent's your whole article can be summed up into...LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Good example of coarse. We are a product of our environment. Look at the kid and you will see the parents.
