Well where did you hear first about Bob Dean and his treachery? It's time to vote him out of public office, for ever...

Rucker does not have a criminal record I dont even know where that mess came from. Sounds like MD1533USMC has been hanging out with Mr Dean! Council is allow to buy a gift for their clerk who does work for them and probably because she does more than her share. No need of name calling but Mr Dean needs to be released of his duties he keeps too much mess going!!!!

This whole thing really doesn't need this much attention. I hate when politics turns so ugly.

I think the antics of the Warren city council would fit nicely in a chapter of "Gulliver's Travels". But I don't know if they would represent Lilliput or Blefuscu?

foxtrot you are right on! Much like Detroit, dissolve the mess that the city of Warren has become and put it back to its natural boundaries - the whole county (including the current mess of a city) will be better off.

Thanks for the correction ParentProud. The real set of events are just as ridiculous as the ones I misunderstood.

These folks can't even work together to buy a $100 gift card without bickering and making the news.

With all the problems in Warren they should have never allowed this to go this far. This should have never reached the public's "ears" and this makes them all seem petty and unqualified.

I think that Dean is a dictator that thinks the world should bow at his feet and he has meant his match. I don't understand if he is the president why didn't he have this under control at the last meeting. Did he bring it up and state that he did not agree with the donations or did he just wait to slam the city counsel behind their back. It makes me sick that our officals are wasting time on petty crap as our city fall apart. Rediculous

Cincin, there was no stolen money, Council agreed to pool money for a gift cert. One put up 90% of the money and bought the gift. She got sick and so did clerk, neither had a chance to present gift until after the first. Meanwhile it was ALL HER MONEY, most of council didn't pay her until after this blew up. They don't call him Dopey Dean for nothin. He needs shown the door or Couuncil, then the city. he is a do nuttin blowhard.

Warren should transfer all of its assets to Trumbull County (such as the water and sewer systems) and vote to dissolve itself. It has failed to completely conquer either Howland or Warren Townships, and has created a third entity that only seeks to extort money from its residents/victims. The townships, remade whole by Warren Inc.'s dissolution, can grow and become economically vibrant by the elimination of the 2% local income tax. Look at the map of Warren, and you will see that it was just out to grab all of the land it could through crooked annexation deals. The City of Warren is nothing but a huge taking, and the councilpeople are huge takers. Stick a fork in Warren! The county workers should be happier not having to pay the 2% local income tax.

Would love to know where these blog comments were. Sadly, I spend lots of time on "the blogs" and the only allegations I've ever seen were by USBlues involving one councilperson and the Family Mission...

Of course, I don't know why anyone would take comments made by people hiding behind fake board names seriously.

Would love to know where else people are blogging about Warren!

This is a disgrace, and I would hold the council president responsible. He needs to take control and not in a dictatorial way. It was a good gesture for the council folks to want to get a Christmas gift for the clerk, but what's wrong with a box of candy..She gets paid for the work she does for council. Bet all of the other hard working warren employees would have liked a gift card from council. "Focus council"...Warren has real problems and a gift card isn't one of them.

Thank heaven for the do-nothing city council.

I cast a vote of no confidence for all of them.

Why didn't the gift go to the HR director for the city? That's how it's done in most municipalities. The HR director then decides, based upon policy and applicable laws, if the gift is permissible or not. If the gift is permissible, the HR director distributes the gift to the municipal employee. If the gift is not permissible it is returned to the gift giver with an explanation of why the employee cannot accept it. I have never heard of city council getting involved in something like this, much less stealing the gift! WTF??

Why hasn't there been an investigation into who stole the money? Whoever took it should be arrested for theft and removed from council.

I've only had the displeasure of speaking with one Warren council member. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism (and knowledge) this person exhibited. From this article I see he's not an anomaly in Warren City Council. The city has no hope if these are the types running

The reason he wants to stop the recognition resolutions is he can't read them either...and Hick's attorneys have retired and Greggie doesn't have enough time between his 2 martini lunches and happy hour at Salvatores or Up a Creek to write them.

I am surprised Dean asked anyone to put something in writing...he can't read it. That 8 ball is one egotistical fool. TV should stop running to film him every time he calls them. He treats his family the same way. That old Massa Seargant thinks we should all just salute and say Yes Sir. NO WAY!
