Lighten and Brighten: Your home will take on a new look with new carpet and lighting

CHESNIC Tribune Chronicle correspondent When homeowners remodel their rooms, lighting and flooring experts agree should give careful consideration to what is put over their head and under their feet so they can create functional and attractive spaces from top to bottom. Eric Thompson, owner of Satolli Carpet & Floor Cover, 367 High St. NE, Warren, said replacing dated, dark and dingy carpet with newer, fresher and brighter flooring makes the “biggest impact” on a space, and it can be done economically, which is a concern many have when debating whether or not to install new flooring. Thompson said many people are choosing to put down vinyl or laminate flooring, as it is available for about $1.50 a square foot. “Vinyl and laminate flooring come in many different colors and patterns so someone can create a fresh look in a room,” he said.
