Changes to the website
August 13, 2010 - Frank Robinson
You may have noticed by now we have made a few changes to the design of our website.
It certainly was due.
I know many visitors to the site have grown accustomed to its look and features. But to be honest, the site design was getting a little dated and cluttered. We haven't taken anything away, just added some features we think visitors to the site will like.
We already are getting some feedback. Within 16 minutes after launching the updated site, two opinions were posted in the public forum area, under latest topics, new forum of tribtoday:
"Reader" said: "How many of you like the new forum of the online newspaper? I vote no. Takes too long to get to where you want to be, to post, or read anyone else's concerns. Kind of defeats the whole concept. ... Can't read any of the ads because you are flipping from page to page to page. Why bother. Sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone?"
"MrDrone" (there are a lot of drones) said: It's like any other change - we'll get used to it. I DO like having a lot more of the older stories on one page though.
So, there you have it. I think it's human nature to dislike change.
But this change, I think, is worth it. The technicians around here have worked very hard making this switch, and will continue to adjust, manipulate and tweak the site. Stay tuned.
